March Meeting – New Meeting Location

Please note that we will have our monthly meeting for March at Top Cat’s Chill and Grill restaurant at 3211 Sangamon Avenue on the northeast side of Springfield.  There is plenty of free parking and, as always, our meetings are free and open to the public.

Our program this month will feature the Route 66 Film Festival and how it has beaten the odds to become a successful yearly endeavor.  The festival is looking forward to its 18th year on November 1 and 2, 2019. Lana Wildman and Thea Chesley, Route 66 Festival organizers, will talk about the the Fest and share some of the behind the scenes information on the inner workings of what it takes to run a successful film festival.  They will cover rules for submitting films, sources of funding, judging, and more.  They’ll also share industry statistics on film festivals in general and show a few very short films.

Our meeting will be on Thursday, March 21 at 7:00pm.

The Central Illinois Film Commission is a membership organization dedicated to promoting central Illinois as a historical and film-friendly region, attracting and serving the film, television, video, photography, documentary, and music industries, while promoting and supporting the talent, services, and experience of our members.

Hope to see you there!
